Xàbia – Puig de la Llorença
1. Briefing
For half of the ride, you’ll be cycling along the stunning coastline, enjoying breathtaking views of beaches and cliffs 🌞👀. You’ll start by riding along the Xàbia coastline, where you’ll encounter two challenging climbs: Cap Sant Antoni and Cap de La Nau, both located after kilometer 15.
The first major hill, 🚩Puig de la Llorença🚩, awaits you at kilometer 35. This climb has been featured twice in the final stage of La Vuelta in the past five years, with victories going to Chris Froome (2017) and Tom Dumoulin (2015) 🏆🥇.
After enjoying more coastal views, you’ll head inland on scenic roads to return to Xàbia. A final tricky climb awaits you at kilometer 52, adding an extra challenge to your journey.
2. CLimbs
This short 3-kilometer climb may not be long, but it’s challenging enough to test your limits. The most difficult sections are at the beginning and end, where you’ll encounter steep gradients of 20% 🧨. The road is wide and well-maintained, but as it’s in a residential area, expect some traffic during the climb and descent in summer. During the winter, traffic is generally lighter.
3. Traffic
Expect some traffic as you ride along the coast. You’ll experience less traffic once you head back to Xàbia via the rural roads.
4. Road Quality
The road quality is excellent throughout the entire route.
