Xàbia – Puig de la Llorença
1. Briefing
Scenic ride along the Xàbia coastline. The first climb will take you to the top of Cap de la Nau, a relatively easy ascent that serves as a good warm-up for what’s to come.
The circuit also includes a visit to Cala La Granadella beach 🌞💛 (kilometer 15), one of the region’s most beautiful beaches. 🚩Be mindful of the climb that follows the beach🚩, which will take you back to Cap de la Nau. This short stretch has gradients up to 20%.
The major challenge awaits at kilometer 30: Puig de la Llorença. This climb has been featured twice in the final stage of La Vuelta in the past five years, with victories going to Chris Froome (2017) and Tom Dumoulin (2015) 🏆🏆.
2. CLimbs
This short 3-kilometer climb may not be long, but it’s challenging enough to test your limits. The most difficult sections are at the beginning and end, where you’ll encounter steep gradients of 20% 🔥🔥. The road is wide and well-maintained, but as it’s in a residential area, expect some traffic during the climb and descent. During the winter, traffic is lighter.
3. Traffic
Expect some traffic during the first and last 10 kilometers of the route.
4. Road Quality
The road quality is excellent throughout the entire route.
