Denia – Miserat
1. Briefing
The initial 10 kilometers offer an easy ride through charming villages and quiet roads. While there are a few gentle inclines within the first 20 kilometers, they pale in comparison to the main challenge: Miserat.
After passing through the village of Pego, prepare for the steep ascent of Miserat, starting around kilometer 25. Once you summit, enjoy a well-deserved descent to the town of Ebo.
At kilometer 40, just beyond Ebo, tackle a brief and manageable climb in Pla de Petracos. While the second hill isn’t particularly difficult, its 5-kilometer length can test your endurance, especially after the previous efforts. A satisfying descent with excellent road conditions awaits at the top.
2. CLimbs
❚ Km 28 ⇝ 34 ❚ Prepare for a nice challenge: one of Alicante’s toughest climbs 🔥🔥. The initial 500 meters offer a gentle warm-up with a 6% incline. However, the difficulty ramps up dramatically after the first kilometer, with gradients reaching 18-20% along a narrow, winding road. At kilometer 3.5, take a short breather before tackling the final ascent: a 1-kilometer stretch on an exceptionally narrow road that will lead you to the summit of Miserat. With gradients once again reaching 20%, this 6-kilometer climb will test the endurance of even the most experienced cyclists. Enjoy the scenic natural surroundings and low traffic as you conquer this challenging route 💛.
❚ Km 52 ⇝ 58 ❚ Enjoy a more moderate climb compared to the previous one, with an average gradient of 6.5% and peaks reaching 8%. Traverse a landscape of pure nature, with minimal traffic and the company of pine trees. On the top, you’ll find a nice restaurant worthy of a stop – even a short one for a well-deserved coffee ☕️🍰.
3. Traffic
Enjoy a peaceful ride after passing through Ondara at kilometer 8. Traffic is minimal between Pego (kilometer 25) and Benimaurell (kilometer 60) 👌👌.
4. Road Quality
While the initial part of the Miserat climb may have a few minor imperfections, the overall road quality is excellent.
