Calp – Xàbia
1. Briefing
The first half of the route takes you along the beautiful undulating coast, complete with picturesque beaches and cliffs. Just after Moraira, it’s game ON where you get to attack the “Puig de la Llorença”; the first and most challenging climb of the circuit. It was twice the final stage of La Vuelta in the past 5 years, where we saw the likes of Chris Froome (2017) and Tom Dumoulin (2015) climb to victory🏆🥇.
You’ll then ride across the beautiful seaside of Xàbia, with another easy climb to Cap de La Nau and a second one to Cap de Sant Antoni (short climb but with sections up to 15%)🚴🏼♂️💨.
You’ll then head inland to get back to Calp. Expect some tricky climbs along the way.
2. CLimbs
A short yet punchy 3 km climb that’ll surely challenge your legs and will. The toughest sections are located at the start and in the final kilometres, with bits pushing 20% gradient🚵🏽♀️💥. The road is wide and in excellent condition. It’s a (summer) residential area so expect some cars during the summer while riding up and down.
3. Traffic
You may encounter some traffic during the first and last kilometres – especially between Calp and Moraira. Traffic will be very calm once you head inland to get back to Calp.
4. Road Quality
Road quality is very good throughout the whole track.
