1. Briefing

In the first kilometres, you’ll already start to gain altitude 🚵🏿‍♂️ with some easy climbs. At km 25, once you cross the village of Parcent, you’ll hit your first significant climb; Coll de Rates, one of the most popular climbs in the region.

Once at the top, you’ll mainly descend for a 5-km stretch that includes a few short climbs to take you to the town of Tàrbena. Here you get to attack the second climb of the day; Sa Creueta (km 45).

You’ll then have lots of time to recover 🔋 🔋 as you descend for almost 20 km to the town of Callosa d’en Sarrià.

Your next climb starts at km 73 and takes you up to the village of Castell de Gaudalest. From there you’ll descend to the picturesque reservoir before ascending once again to the village of Castell de Guadalest.

2. CLimbs

One of the most popular climbs of the region. A 6 km ascent with an average that doesn’t rise above 6%. This is the shorter version of the climb. The longer starts on the opposite side of the mountain, in the village of Callosa d’en Sarrià.

A short, easy 5 km climb on a rural road that starts in Tàrbena. Many actually consider it to be a continuation of Coll de Rates.

3. Traffic

NOTE: Expect heavy traffic the last 5 kilometres as we ride along the national road between Altea and Calp (unfortunately there is no alternative route).

4. Road Quality

Road quality is very good throughout the whole track.
