Calp – Ebo
1. Briefing
The first 40 km are relatively easy ✅, with only a few minor climbs. The first real challenge you’ll hit before arriving in the town of Pego is “Port de la Vall d’Ebo”, easily one of our favourite climbs😎. It’s a nearly 8 km stretch with perfect tarmac and amazing views overlooking the Mediterranean coast. A must-ride in the region.
You’ll continue on a beautiful descent straight to the town of Ebo, on your way towards “Pla de Petracos”. You’ll then climb easy for 1 km through a charming valley, before descending for 20 km towards the town of Xaló.
Right after crossing Xaló (km 75), you get to attack the second – and last – significant climb of the course; Port de Bèrnia.🚵♂️🚵♂️
2. CLimbs
An 8 km climb with an average gradient of 5.8%, with 9% at its steepest. Stunning views, perfect tarmac followed by a pleasant descent.
A beautiful 12 km climb that connects the towns of Xaló and Benissa. A twisting rural (an quiet) road with a 3.5% average incline that includes steep bits up to 10%. 💥 🔥
3. Traffic
Expect some traffic the first (and last) kilometres. Once you cross the town of Benissa, traffic will have eased up. Roads are calm on the two climbs (specially Bèrnia).
4. Road Quality
Road quality is very good throughout the whole track.
